Schwartz is a winner

2008 November was a very famous year and month for the famous poker star Ylon Schwartz. The reason being that in that year he had won his first gold bracelet in the World Series of Poker after defeating David Chiu. Apart from the gold bracelet which is like a life time achievement for him he also won the WSOP $1500 H.O.R.S.E. This title along with the $267,081 first place prize and the Card Player of the Year points was all dedicated to him. It was all like a dream come true.

Ylon Schwartz could not express his happiness in words and said that he is really very happy as he had got close many a times but has never reached this position in his era of playing poker. Also in the 2008 WSOP $10,000 event, he had outlasted a 899 player field battle.

It was a Friday night when only Schwartz, Peter Eastgate and Johnny Chan were remaining. Now the betting limits had gone really high and within just a hour and a half into the play Ylon Schwartz eliminated Chidwick who finished n the third place and won $112,106 and 608 POY points. This shifted him to the 59th place in the POY.

This was the point where Ylon Schwartz took a chip lead and then defeated Johnny Chan. It was quite obvious by then that Ylon Schwartz would be the winner taking the pot away. But as they say that in poker nothing is predictable, in the same way it was very difficult to judge the finishing stage.

As the evening started to end and the game coming to an end, David Chiu was totally unable to recover from the chip deficit and thus ended up being the runner up earning $164,760 and 760 POY points.
